ETX Transilluminators

The ETX transilluminators are equipped with 15 Watt UV tubes and thus achieve very high UV intensities. This drastically improves the gel visualisation and documentation, especially if large gels have to be evenly illuminated.

Multiband Transilluminators

The Multiband transilluminators accomodate two UV wavelengths in only one system and can therefore be used ideally as well for preparative as for analytical applications.

The Super-Bright Multiband transilluminator ECP-26.LMX represents the top model of this type series, as it combines the above advantage with the advantages of the Super-Bright technology. The quality of gel visualisation and documentation is drastically enhanced, not only for ethidium bromide stained gels, but also for SYBR Green™ and a big number of other fluorophores. Analyses have shown for example, that excitation with 365 nm Super-Bright UV-light leeds to excellent results for Q-Dot dyes.

The Super-Bright transilluminators have a special equipment which results in a very homogeneous illumination of the complete filter plate and in a minimized background signal. Thus, the contrast of the gel is enhanced automatically, so that even weakest bands can be identified. Compared to standard UV transilluminators, up to 25% better results are obtained especially for SYBR Green ™, SYBR Safe ™, SYBR Gold ™ and SYPRO orange ™.

Super-Bright Transilluminators

Superbright describes the new generation of UV tables. The underlying technology was developed by Vilber Lourmat. It is based on a completely new filter plate, which is permeable for UV light only and which does not emit visible light any more. Superbright transilluminators offer many crucial advantages compared to standard transilluminators as for example very clear and homogeneous illumination. Superbright  transilluminators are particularly well suited as multi-application devices for many of the fluorescent dyes besides ethidium bromide (e.g. SYBR-Green, SYBR Orange,  SYBR-Gold, SYBR-Red, SYPRO-Ruby, Texas Red…).

Visi-Blue Transilluminators

Visi-Blue transilluminators are designed for use with GFP stains. As compared to UV, the blue light will transmit through almost any transparent (plastic, glass, etc.) laboratory equipment. This is essential when monitoring and detecting DNA migration and protein expression in real time.

White Light Transilluminators
